At The Lanyard Shop we take significant steps to ensure only serving NHS Staff are purchasing our NHS items.
Since the start of the Covid 19 pandemic, there has been an unusually large increase in people purchasing NHS lanyards. As a result, people and businesses have noticed the demand and started selling NHS items on sites like Amazon, eBay and Etsy.
Fortunately Amazon have made the decision to ban all NHS items on their website. eBay claim to have banned NHS items too however, dozens of listings are active daily.
Unauthorised businesses and individuals selling NHS items (some at extortionate prices) have been sending items out to anyone without checking they actually work for the NHS. Some claim to perform checks; however, we have never been asked to provide proof when making test purchases.
This has led to an increase in fraudulent use of NHS lanyards for personal gain such as the perks and discounts offered by businesses. It also increases the risk of vulnerable people being subject to scams.
When we find NHS items being sold we work with the DHSC to ensure the items are removed and the sellers investigated.
We receive dozens of emails every day from people notifying us of NHS items being sold where they shouldn’t be. We have now made it easier for you to let us know about these items to us by using the form below:
Your Details WILL NOT be sent to the DHSC unless you give us your permission.
